Doug Wenners

Doug is a senior executive of Anthem, Inc., a Fortune 38 health insurance company. Since 2013, he has served as president of Anthem's east region, which includes nearly 7.5 million customers in New York, Georgia, Virginia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine. In his current position, he oversees sales, account management, network management, underwriting, product delivery, and regulatory and customer relationships for the company Prior to his current role, Doug was president and general manager of Anthem's New Hampshire division, a responsibility he assumed in 2008. He began his career as the company's New Hampshire legal counsel. Prior to joining Anthem, he was an attorney with Wiggin and Nourie in Manchester. A self-described "unremarkable student-athlete at Central," Doug was a member of the varsity soccer and tennis teams, and he served as sports editor of The Little Green. He earned a B.A. from Boston College, a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, and an M.S. from Dartmouth College. He currently serves on the board of American Well, the nation's leading telehealth company, and on the board of the New Hampton School. He is a former Southern New Hampshire University trustee and a former board member of the New Hampshire Business and Industry Association. Doug considers marrying his high-school sweetheart, Eleni '89, to be his greatest achievement. They are proud parents of Caroline, Elizabeth, and Eleanor, with whom they live in Rye.
