During his sports career at Central, Jim earned 11 letters, including varsity letters as a freshman in football, basketball, and baseball. He was All-State in football during both his junior and senior years and captained both the football and baseball teams as a senior. He was the MVP of the 1966 NH Shrine football game. Upon graduation from Central, Jim attended Ferrum (VA) Junior College where he quarterbacked the team to the National Championship; he was named an AllAmerican that year. He then went on to Wake Forest (NC) University were he starred as linebacker and defensive end. Jim is the current coach of Central's football team. After a few lean years, he has returned Central to state and regional prominence including the New Hampshire State Championship during the Sesquicentennial season of 1995. He was voted Coach of the Year in 1995. Jim is also the director of the PASS Program in the Manchester School of Technology.
